Job seekers and people with disability in Western Australia can learn more about APM’s employment and disability support programs at the WA Day 2019 Festival this weekend.

As a sponsor of Celebrate WA’s two-day festival, teams from APM Employment Services and APM Communities will be at the event in Burswood Park to help more people access the support they need to enjoy a better life.

APM Employment Services delivers help for job seekers who are facing challenges to finding work. This includes how to access Disability Employment Services for people living with an injury, illness or disability.

Employment consultants will be on hand to guide job seekers, including explaining the eligible process for the program which also helps people with mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety, or physical injuries such as lower back pain, find suitable work.

As well as advice for job seekers, APM Communities teams will be at the festival to discuss disability support and access to the NDIS.

APM Communities deliver the NDIS Local Area Coordination services in regions across WA.

The Local Area Coordinators help people understand their NDIS plan, as well as support people with disability who are not eligible for the scheme. They also assist carers and family members.

The APM Communities team also assist local businesses, groups and organisations to be more accessible and supportive for people with disability.

APM’s team members will be on hand for both days of the WA Day festival on Sunday, June 2 and Monday, June 3, from 10am in the BUPA Play in WA zone.

Visitors who come and meet the local APM teams can also enjoy free popcorn and face painting.

Last year more than 100,000 people flocked to the two-day family fun festival as part of the WA Day weekend in Perth.
