Motivated to turn his life around, Reece reached out to APM Employment Services for support

After being incarcerated for several months, he wanted to turn his life around and be a positive impact for his partner and child.

He was doing everything he could to ensure he complied with his corrections order and worked hard to maintain his sobriety.

Employment Consultant Beau wanted to help Reece find employment. Furthermore, a role in an environment which he feels secure in maintaining good habits which support the changes he had made in his life.

Reece had previously experienced setbacks in previous work environments, but clearly showed his commitment to long-term recovery.

For many people living with injury, illness or disability, a supportive, safe environment at work is essential for a person’s wellbeing.

Initially, Beau started to market Reece to labour focused roles, as he had a strong background as a labourer and wanted to stick to physical work.

It didn’t take long to get Reece placed into a two-week work trial as a Commercial Waste labourer, where he worked for several more weeks whilst continuing to search for something more aligned with Reece’s long-term career path.

Beau approached Calco Trusses and Timber, a family-owned company which follow strict OHS guidelines to ensure the safety and health of their staff.

An ideal work environment for Reece’s skills and wellbeing.

Beau negotiated a Wage Subsidy and for APM to cover Reece’s employee set up costs.

Ecstatic to be given an opportunity to learn a new trade, Reece quickly started to surpass expectations of the management team and his co-workers.

Today, Reece is nearing his 52-week milestone and has been promoted to higher duties at work.

After implementing a success plan with his employer, Reece has climbed from a Team Leader to Second in Charge.

Reece and his partner have recently welcomed their second child and are looking forward to their future together.
