Tracy-Anne knows better than most how difficult it can be finding a permanent job.
The Munno Para West woman has spina bifida, meaning she has restricted mobility, bladder issues and complications with her nervous system.
Tracy-Anne, 43, was unable to find work that was suitable for her condition, forcing her to seek financial help through a disability pension.
"(The disability) has held me back. I've been on a pension since I was 16," she said.
Tracy-Anne decided it was time to change her luck this year and signed up to Advanced Personnel Management - a disability employment service - where a case worker helped her to apply for a strong of jobs that would cater for her disability.
In August, she secured a job as a support worker at Carers that Care in Elizabeth East, showering, feeding, cooking and cleaning for up to three disabled people in the north each day.
She said never giving up was the key to her success.
"Finding an agency that supports your needs...will really help," she said.
"It took me a long time to find a job, but then I was flooded with offers."
