APM rated excellent following Merlin Standard assessment

APM has been rated as excellent, following a recent Merlin Standard assessment.

Achieving a score of some 86%, APM joins a select number of organisations that recognise and promote sustainable excellence and positive working within their supply chains.

Risk Management Director, Richard Johns, said: "This is a tremendous result for APM and would not have been made possible without so many of our staff all working together to achieve this outcome."

The Merlin Standard has been designed to recognise and promote sustainable excellence within supply chains and provide guidance to those seeking to achieve it.

It is built upon four fundamental and integrated principles - supply chain design, commitment, conduct and review - that examine key areas of the relationship between a prime contractor and its supply chain partners.

As well as meeting with APM directors and employees, representatives from Assessment Services interviewed employees from 41 APM supply chain partners during the period of 31st May to 3rd June 2016.

"Supply chain partners were interviewed at various stages of their working relationship with APM," explains Richard.

"The assessment encompassed prospective members of our supply chain and organisations that had also been unsuccessful in their bids to work with us."

The 62% sample included representatives of organisations that deliver a range of services and projects on behalf of APM, including end-to-end partners, 'spot purchase', specialist services and second tier subcontracted providers.

APM delivers a host of employment, health, skills and youth-focused contracts in partnership with a valued network of supply chain organisations, including: Work Programme, National Citizen Service and National Offender Management Service provision.
