APM has been selected to help connect thousands of people with disability and community support across Western Australia.
As part of the NDIS Partners in the Community program, APM will deliver Local Area Coordination (LAC) services from several regions across WA.
APM’s delivery of LAC services will result in around 200 job opportunities for West Australians who are looking for a rewarding career where they can help improve the lives of people with disability.
Group CEO Michael Anghie said APM was after motivated self-starters who wanted to make a difference to their local community.
“We are looking for passionate people who want to assist their local community to become more inclusive of people with disability,” Mr Anghie said.
“Our LAC team support people with disability by providing information and choice to achieve their personal goals.
“APM provides on the job training and mentoring and there are great opportunities across the business.”
APM currently delivers LAC Services in Darwin and the Maryborough service area in Queensland, which includes Fraser Coast, Chernbourg, North Burnett and South Burnett.
This year APM has supported 906 NDIS participants in Maryborough and 449 participants in Darwin.
It is estimated 7,000 NDIS participants across WA will receive support from APM within the next 12 months.
Federal Minister for Families and Social Services Paul Fletcher and Western Australian Minister for Disability Services, Stephen Dawson today announced Mission Australia and APM as the NDIS Partners in the Community.
Mr Fletcher said Mission Australia and APM will deliver local services expected to reach about 39,000 Western Australians with permanent and significant disability when NDIS reaches full-scheme.
“The transition to the NDIS from state and territory services represents a major change,” Mr Fletcher said.
“The scheme gives people the opportunity to identify their goals and support needs, and to have choice and control over the services they need to help them to live an independent life.
“In delivering the scheme’s Local Area Coordination Services (LAC), Mission Australia and APM will support people to implement their NDIS plans and access supports in their local communities,” Mr Fletcher said.

APM will be delivering LAC services from new or expanded sites in:
- Northam
- Warwick
- Joondalup
- Fremantle
- Success (initially at Canning Vale)
- Armadale
- Mandurah
- Rockingham
- Bunbury
- Busselton
- Margaret River
- Katanning
- Albany
Regionally, we will also be offering visiting services in the South West, Great Southern and Inner Wheatbelt (including Lancelin).
