APM scoops innovation award at ARPA conference

APM rehabilitation consultant Dylan Slater picked up the top innovation prize for New South Wales at the Australian Rehabilitation Provider Association (ARPA) conference.

The annual event and awards night brought technology and innovation to the forefront of workplace health and safety.

International speakers included Dr Marc White, CEO & President, Work Wellness and Disability Prevention Institute, Canada and Dr Tyler Amell, Chief Relationship Officer at CoreHealth Technologies, Canada.

Dylan was nominated for his award after putting together a guided self-help manual for service personnel discharging medically from the tri-services within the Australian Defence Force.

The guide drew on evidence-based problem-solving techniques, the existing career transition scheme, and the incredibly successful Improving Access to Psychological Therapies scheme from the UK.

It provided a framework for consultants and ADF members to navigate the complex career transition scheme with clarity, focus and evidence-based practice in a time of increased stress and worry.

APM is heavily engaged with the voice of the industry and values the importance of fostering collaboration and innovation both with rehabilitation providers and external stakeholders.

Including workplaces and regulatory bodies where we can work together to improve workplace health and outcomes.
