Finding the right support was crucial, and within weeks of connecting with APM, Ngaire was in constant communication with her employment consultant, who introduced her to various job opportunities.

One of these led to a phone interview with Luvenit, an in home support, and domestic and commercial cleaning business.

Ngaire's employer, Zoe, noticed her initial shyness and anxiety but was impressed by her dedication.

"She kept doing everything she could to improve, taking feedback from senior staff and building up her skills at her own pace," Zoe explained.

Today, Ngaire is a supervisor at The Barns of Freeling, one of Luvenit's popular and prestigious South Australian sites. She excels in her role, earning high praise from those she supervises.

"You wouldn’t even tell she came to us with those barriers," Zoe said.

Ngaire’s journey from anxiety to achievement has transformed her life.

“I’ve actually got self-worth now. I’ve got something to look forward to,” Ngaire said.

"It’s given me confidence and also freedom, and a future."
