Safiya and Ingeus UK transcript
Safiya: Hey, my name is Safiya Patel and I'm 16 years old.
I play netball and I'm interested in debating, public speaking, and politics.
And I think it was the opportunities that I would gain here in this five days, like not only the activities, but also meeting new people and the abseiling and the climb.
Rock climbing so far. So yesterday we took part in rock climbing and abseiling and zip wiring, which was really fun.
The rock climbing was quite difficult, but it was a real challenge.
But it was really good. I think when you're abseiling, it's just stepping off the edge of the cliff because you go backwards.
But once you're down, it's really fun. So far we've been doing lots of icebreakers.
We've been talking to other groups, meeting new people.
And it definitely broadens your horizons with new people that you probably wouldn't usually talk to or meet and just communicating with them, which is a very good opportunity and experience.
Even though I've only known them for like 3 days, it feels like we've become really close friends because we're living together and stuff like that.
From the activities we're doing now, like public speaking and stuff like that, it'll really help me in the future when I need to get a job or talk to new people.
Like college or university, which will be really great because it wouldn't be my first time and I wouldn't be nervous doing it because I've been doing it here.
NCS has definitely been a positive experience. I really enjoyed my stay so far.
It's not over yet and I would 100% recommend it to anyone who's a bit sceptical of coming.
Everyone is so friendly and welcoming and the team leaders are really nice, so I would definitely recommend it.
