Deepthi has a plan to find time to relax.

Like all of us, Deepthi loves her chill time. She can spend it listening to music, walking on the beach, or catching up with friends.

Sometimes it’s a visit to the temple for a quiet moment where she can find some peace of mind. Just as importantly, it’s how she feels more in control.

And that’s not always easy living with a degenerative disease like Multiple Sclerosis.

When you have to fit in multiple sessions with the people you need for help, advice and support, like your physio, psychologist and doctor.

And it’s especially difficult in the beginning. Deepthi first noticed her vision was getting blurred and she had weakness in her legs.

When she was diagnosed with MS, her life changed completely. Understandably, she was overwhelmed.

She remembers how she felt, “I was in distress; it was really new to me. Everything, like frequent doctor visits, frequent MRIs, and infusions and medicines. It was all very hard for me.

All of these things made me emotionally really down. I didn’t know where to go.”

Talking with others who understand what you are going through can really help. It’s especially beneficial when you’re navigating a challenging time like Deepthi was.

Fortunately, she found a group called Women with MS, who not only helped her understand MS more, but also taught her about the NDIS and how important it is to have a good plan manager. That’s when she found MyIntegra.

It’s no surprise that, in a time like this, Deepthi has so many questions for the people at MyIntegra.

“I kept asking, I kept calling them… They were patiently handling all of my questions. I've never faced any impatient kind of talk or anything. They are just very friendly. They just know.”

Now, after two and a half years, Deepthi can find time to relax and feel in control, because MyIntegra takes care of the details for her.

When an invoice needs paying, MyIntegra does it. Deepthi doesn’t want to spend her time paying invoices. She’s more interested in getting to the beach, catching up with friends, and feeling as good as she can.

She notices how her physio sessions help with her stiffness and weakness, and how her psychologist rebuilds her confidence and self-esteem.

“It's not easy with MS,” says Deepthi, “but if you have the right support system, it helps you to move forward. I feel so good, like to know that there are people who are taking care of you.”
