A local and national win for our own Clare St George

Published on 17 Dec 2024

APM WorkCare Rehabilitation Counsellor, Clare St George, has recently won the ‘Outstanding Achievement in Return to Work - Psychological Claim’ category at ARPA’s 2024 National and NSW Awards.

The ARPA Excellence in Workplace Rehabilitation Awards celebrates and showcases the Australian workplace health, return to work and rehabilitation industry’s outstanding achievements and acknowledges the industry's importance in the broader community.

Clare’s award was based on a case study showcasing her exceptional methodologies, competencies and results.

Her entry was concerning a client who had been unable to work for two years, due to incidents at her workplace and who faced significant barriers to return to work.

It was a complex and challenging case, but Clare was successful.

Through months of consultation, slowly increasing the amount of work her client could participate in, and supporting her along each step, Clare was instrumental in the client’s return to function and work.

Highlights from the winning submission

  • Clare’s advocacy for the Health Benefits of Good Work (HBGW) is especially impressive, demonstrated by her different employer (DE) return to work rate of 74% across an 18-month period, whilst maintaining +47 NPS satisfaction across the same period.
  • She established relationships with local businesses to best support her clientele and was responsible for creating partnerships with 18 new businesses in 12 months.
  • Clare independently redesigned APM WorkCare’s Job Seeking Program to better leverage national job seeking innovations — supporting a statewide uplift in DE outcomes by 13% in NSW across the past nine months.
  • She also supported the mentorship and eventual onboarding of seven university student-turned-graduates over the past 12 months.

“Clare consistently embodies our company's core values; displaying genuine empathy across all injury complexities and constantly collaborating with others.”

Congratulations to Clare and all the winners.
