At APM, we understand everyone’s health is different

None of us want to be diagnosed with an illness, especially one that impacts our ability to work.

If your health takes an unfortunate turn, we may be able to assist you in finding and keeping a job.

If Centrelink find you’re eligible for Disability Employment Services, choosing APM as your provider ensures you get the personalised level of support that’s suitable for your needs.

Whether it’s mental illnesses such as anxiety and depression, or debilitating issues such as asthma, heart disease, or a form of cancer, we help thousands of Australians with a range of health conditions to find and maintain suitable jobs every year.

Opening doors for Cristian

Cristian is one of many job seekers who struggled to find employment as he battled anxiety and depression.

After fighting mental illness for 10 years without a job he signed up with our Disability Employment Services program.

Not only did he get the support he needed to advance his job search, he successfully gained long term work which helped improved his mental health.

Achieving personal goals

With help from his APM employment consultant Rita, Cristian was able to fight off the urge to lock himself away from the world, or stay in bed all day, and focus on achieving his goals.

Cristian didn’t just want to earn money, he wanted a job he could perform well in and also provide more for his young son.

Rita introduced Cristian to local employers so he could see the jobs available near him and build his confidence meeting new people.

Improving health

When Rita wanted to prepare Cristian for job interviews, she encouraged him to wear smart and appropriate clothes for mock interviews. This made him much more comfortable for the real thing.

When Medico Hygiene Services approached APM looking for new members to join their warehouse team, Cristian was put forward.

After impressing his employer in an interview Cristian was offered the chance to join the business, and he hasn’t looked back.

In just a few weeks Cristian felt a big improvement in his mental health.
