APM app scoops top innovation award

On a great industry night celebrating the achievements within Occupational Rehabilitation, APM has been recognised at the 2019 Australian Rehabilitation Providers Association (ARPA) National Excellence in Workplace Rehabilitation Awards.

APM took out the 2019 National Award for Innovation in Return to Work for the development of a new smartphone app which improves the return to work process of a client’s injured worker.

APMiQ is a psychosocial app specifically for clients involved in occupational rehabilitation.

With the app, APM consultants track the progress of a client’s injured worker towards the desired health, social and economic (return to work) outcomes.

Information is captured at regular, scheduled intervals and APMiQ provides real-time feedback, which is shared with the client so they can see the impact of care on their injured worker.

The tool ensures that barriers to a return to health, work and life are identified and managed as appropriate and as part of the injured worker’s rehabilitation plan.

Philip Paysden, General Manager of APM WorkCare associated the award with a win for the industry as a whole.

“The psychosocial impacts on return to work are well documented, to truly enable better lives, APM wanted to provide something practical that would tackle the real barriers and help as many as possible to access the Health Benefits of Good Work”.

Cementing the leadership position in innovation, APM was also a finalist at the Queensland division of the ARPA Awards for the same category, this time for the APM Health Check, a digital tool which guides case management activities using the quality drivers of best practice rehabilitation.

Ashlyn Dyer, APM Queensland State Manager, was surprised and humbled to also receive a special mention and Award for her outstanding contribution to ARPA.

APM congratulates all the winners and finalists, including national finalists, Philip Paysden for Exceptional Leadership and Michelle Parmiter for Outstanding Consultant (New Employer).
