How Leonie overcame a painful injury to find work transcript
Leonie: Being employed and having that financial independence, but also being able to be around these people, it's the best thing that's happened to me in a very long time.
I'm Leonie, I'm 57 years young, and I have a workplace neck injury, and I've got nerve damage in my right leg. When I disclose that, people don't want to know in mainstream. It's too hard. So going to APM was just the best thing ever.
Ryed: We were lucky enough to get a call from APM saying that they had a perfect candidate for the job that we had online. Working with APM was a wonderful experience, and I would recommend APM to all other businesses.
Leonie: I have an amazing chair that APM allowed me to purchase through them. Because of my neck injury, I needed something high with a lot of support in it, and this was perfect, and APM said, "Yeah, that's fine. Not a problem."
Alysha: I think people with disabilities bring an energy and a drive that is just unlike any other. They want to be working, and they don't want to be looked at as their disability.
Leonie: I feel grateful. I feel thankful. It's something that I really love and I don't take lightly.
