Our team of friendly consultants understand the unique challenges that can come with searching for work when you’re living with a disability, injury, or health condition.
Our teams are passionate about working with you to understand your goals and find career opportunities that interest you.
When you register with Disability Employment Services, you’ll receive personal, tailored support to help you prepare for, find and keep a fulfilling job.
If you're eligible, your support may include:
- Searching for jobs suitable for you
- Writing resumes, cover letters and job applications
- Coaching to perform well in job interviews
- Meeting local employers near you
- Valuable work placement opportunities
- Access to job-specific training
- Help with transport, tools and uniform costs
Our support doesn’t end once you’ve found the perfect job, either.

Register with APM for Disability Employment Services
Are you eligible for Disability Employment Services?
If you have a disability, injury, or health condition that impacts how much you can work, you may be able to join Disability Employment Services (DES).
To be eligible, you must be:
- living with a disability, injury, or health condition that affects your ability to work
- an Australian resident aged from 14 to 67
- at or above the minimum legal working age in your state or territory
- receiving an income support payment or Disability Support Pension
- able to work between eight to 30 hours per week (with support if needed)
- not studying full time (unless you’re an eligible school leaver)
- not already working at or above your assessed work capacity
You may also be eligible if you're an NDIS participant or a school leaver with disability.
You can access Disability Employment Services through a referral by Centrelink or if you're already receiving an income support payment, you can also register with us directly
When you visit Centrelink, they carry out an employment assessment and if you are eligible, they will recommend you to a Disability Employment Services provider.
Remember to ask to join APM so you get the best service when searching for employment.

Emma's story
