Jobs Pool makes a splash in Tasmania

The program, which is a joint initiative of the Tasmanian Hospitality Association (THA) and APM (Advanced Personnel Management), is matching job seekers from employment services providers and job seekers who register online with vacant positions in the industry.

"The Hospitality Jobs Pool concept is bringing together job seekers, employment services providers and hospitality employers in a way that hasn't previously been done," said the General Manager of the THA, Steve Old.

"We are urging any job seeker or employer in our industry to visit www.jobspool.com.au to register their details - it's quick and easy.

"By building a database of employers and job seekers, we are catering for a range of skill and experience levels in many different positions in hospitality.

"It's also a reminder that hospitality is much more than a part-time job for students who are studying - workers in the hospitality industry can forge long and rewarding careers."

APM's Group Chief Executive Officer, Michael Hobday said the Hospitality Jobs Pool had the capacity to affect change in communities across Tasmania.

"With unemployment - notably youth unemployment - increasing, this collaboration is designed to deliver employment solutions for Tasmanian hospitality businesses, providing a boost for them, as well as the economy.

"APM has made a strong commitment to the program by having a dedicated member of our team based in the THA offices in Hobart to help address the needs of employers and work with other local employment services providers.

"If you are a job seeker or an employer and you would like to find out more, please visit the Hospitality Jobs Pool website or call the Hospitality Jobs Pool hotline on 0438 144 102."
