Inclusive Employment Australia is a government-funded program that supports people living with disability, injury or a health condition to prepare for, find and keep a job.

When you register with APM for Inclusive Employment Australia in Canberra, depending on your eligibility, you’ll receive personalised support that’s focused on your goals, strengths and the kind of work you want to do.

What support can include

  • exploring local job options that match your interests and skills
  • help with job applications, resumes and preparing for interviews

Am I eligible for Inclusive Employment Australia in Canberra?

If you’re living in Canberra or the ACT and finding it harder to get work because of a disability, injury or health condition, you may be eligible for support through the Inclusive Employment Australia program with APM.

You could qualify if you:

  • live with a diagnosed disability, injury or health condition that affects your ability to work
  • are aged between 14 and 67 and legally allowed to work in the ACT
  • receive Centrelink payments, the Disability Support Pension, or you're an eligible school leaver or NDIS participant
  • can work up to 30 hours per week, with support if needed
  • are not currently studying full-time (unless you're an eligible school leaver)
  • are not already working at or above your assessed capacity

We work with people across Canberra who live with a range of health conditions, injuries and disabilities.

You can join Inclusive Employment Australia by asking Centrelink for a referral to APM, or you can register directly with us online. If you're visiting a Centrelink office, ask to be referred to APM so you can access local support tailored to your needs from day one.

 If you’re eligible, you’ll meet with one of our local APM employment consultants. They’ll take the time to understand your goals, interests and any challenges you’d like support with.

Maddy's story

What to expect when you join APM?

APM Canberra provides dedicated local employment consultants to help people living with a disability, injury, or a health condition find the right job.

When you register with APM, we’ll organise your first meeting with a local employment consultant based right here in Canberra.

They’ll be your go-to support person throughout your time in the Inclusive Employment Australia program — helping you understand how it all works and what kind of support is available to help you find and keep a job that suits you.

In your first appointment, your consultant will:

  • explain the support and services available through APM
  • provide you with our Service Guarantee and Code of Practice
  • outline your rights and responsibilities in the program
