Red Nose thrives with inclusive hiring transcript

So the support that APM offer is that they pre-screen, which is fabulous. They make sure that we get candidates that are the right fit for Red Nose's values and they also help the candidates to complete all of our onboarding paperwork, which is quite a big task and a huge support that APM have offered to Red Nose. APM are brilliant at making sure that whoever they put forward to work for Red Nose are not only physically able, but also that it will improve our working day, but also the candidates working day.

So we have a genuine win-win relationship. So supports that we could put in place for Eric when he joined the team was to always be very flexible with our scheduling. So if he was scheduled for a Tuesday but would prefer a Thursday, we would always go to good lengths to make sure that that happened, especially for the early stages of him on boarding with us. APM make it very easy to take on someone who has barriers to employment. They do offer subsidies, which can help lots with training needs and can just help you to allow them to work at their own pace, to feel more comfortable, to work less hours initially, you know, or whatever they may need, APM will support you to make sure that they remain with you long-term and become part of your team. People that are usually overlooked needn't be. They just might need a little more time, and a little more care.

If somebody thought it was too hard to take on somebody with a barrier to employment, I would probably ask them to go and look in the mirror and question as to why that may be, because they're missing out big time on some of the most unique, diverse, hardworking and reliable team members, and that's from lived experience. We have tried hiring the regular route in the past. I have found so much more consistency and success taking on staff with barriers to employment through APM and it gives us genuine joy to watch them grow as people and to watch them blossom into their roles.
