SA Design and Print’s inclusive partnership transcript

It’s about APM knowing what my business is and what my requirements are as far as staff goes, and having the people on their books to suitably match them and in this situation it's been totally perfection, yeah.

Geoff has made it really easy for me to transition from what I was doing to what I am doing now, with the fact that there's a bathroom so close. I don't get questioned “Why are you going to the bathroom so much?” or “Why you doing this?”, “Why are you doing that?” Everybody knows, everybody understands, nobody questions and that's what I was really looking for from an employer so I couldn't be any happier about it.

He's just made such a significant benefit to the business and he's just picked it up so quick. It's been wonderful. If Sean does ever leave, he's going to take with him such a more progressive skill set and it's going to stand him in good stead, whether he decides to pursue digital printing or whether it be signage or whatever, he's going to have a solid understanding of both those Industries and when he ever leaves. APM really do care. They're involved with things uh in the preliminary discussion, ascertaining the suitability. And once you decide to give them a go, the local APM representative is totally involved in the whole process, care factor, regularly dropping in, regularly making contact to see not only that I'm happy, but also that Sean is happy as well. You've got someone as a mediator and liaison and someone that's, you know, generally involved in the working relationship. I never felt that I was on my own and I never felt that the situation wasn't being supported. Honestly, it's a credit to them. With the APM and government subsidy of wages, that little bit of assistance to get him up to speed to where we needed to be, that was the difference of actually giving someone like Sean an employment opportunity to maybe not being able to afford to. With a bit of help and a bit of assistance, it gets those people back in the workforce. It fills employment gaps that we're currently experiencing and honestly, I couldn't recommend it highly enough.
