Destiny and Ross IES

From nearly quitting her degree, to reaching beyond her goals.

Destiny was studying nursing but was lacking the motivation and courage she needed to keep pushing forward.

The program at Ross IES - part of APM Group in America - gave her the opportunity she needed, at the right time in her life.

“The program has impacting me by giving me a second chance to start over…an opportunity to prepare myself for a professional environment”

Destiny is now a registered nurse at Aurora Sinai Medical Center and Froedtert Hospital. But there was a point where she doubted her future.

When she met her case manager, Schenia, Destiny was feeling despondent and almost at the point of giving up her nursing studies.

“When Destiny came in, I made sure she was equipped with everything she needed, any resources I knew of… I made sure she had them. I made sure I continued to give her those encouraging words when she was feeling down, and I listened to her.”

Case manager supervisor, Patrice, approved Destiny’s training, ensuring she gained additional skills to help her professional career.

“I approved her to go on to the training so she can continue to build her skill set and have extra things under her belt while she was working on that degree — which I'm glad she got.”

Destiny proudly shows her registered nurse badge after completing her degree and achieving her goal.
Destiny and her mentor review nursing materials, reinforcing skills and motivation for success.

Destiny is grateful she was encouraged and even surprised herself at her outcomes.

“Having the support of Ross, especially people like Miss Patrice and Miss Schenia, has helped me to become my professional self. I've been able to reach milestones that I didn't think were possible.”

She’s also encouraging of others to seek the same support, and to stay motivated.

“They're here for you, they're here to help you and make sure you reach your goals. Even when it's hard, or you get to the point where you want to give up, don't. Look at what you're doing it for, or who you're doing it for, and just keep that in the front of your mind.”
