Accessibility statement

The APM website has been designed to be accessible to everyone. We continually review our site for changes to improve the user experience and to apply relevant accessibility standards.

Initiatives to support accessibility

APM uses the following initiatives to support the accessibility of the APM website:

  • Include accessibility as a requirement for all web content. Content must meet WCAG 2.2 AA.
  • Include people with disability in our design personas and review processes.
  • Ensure content authors have accessibility knowledge and skills by providing ongoing training.
  • Conduct usability testing with people with disability.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disability. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

Wherever possible APM aims to meet the requirements of Level AA of the WCAG 2.2 guidelines, which states that sites should be:

  • Perceivable - Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive.
  • Operable - User interface components and navigation must be operable.
  • Understandable - Information and the operation of user interface must be understandable.
  • Robust - Content must be robust enough that it can be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies.

As of 25 April 2024, the APM website content was assessed as being compliant with WCAG 2.2 level AA guidelines, using Rocket Validator accessibility scanning tool except for the violations provided below.

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility, some limitations do exist. These violations are not in APM’s control to remediate as they’re introduced by third party embed functionality.

APM also supports the Australian Government’s Web Accessibility National Transition Strategy, aiming to maximise accessibility to online resources for as many people as possible, including those with disability.

Additional accessibility considerations

Our goal is WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance; however, we have also applied certain Level AAA Success Criteria to enhance accessibility further. Details of these criteria are available upon request.

Third party content

While we aim for comprehensive accessibility, third party content or tools may not always conform. We encourage feedback if accessibility issues arise with these external resources.
