Nina, a Coach and Development Specialist, explains, “The Polaris Programme is an eight-week programme, targeted for employed individuals who want to make a positive change in their career. After asking them about the challenges that they’re going through, we explore the push and pull factors for them to remain in their current role or consider moving out of their current situation.”
For Jamie, who has worked in administration for six to seven years, the need for guidance was clear. He’d been thinking about a career switch but didn’t know where to begin.
“I just thought that I needed somebody to tell me what I can do, or where I can start,” he says.
Riyashdeen also joined Polaris with questions about his next step.
“I came across Ingeus because I was looking for some kind of guidance on where my next step should be. I knew that this would be a programme where I’d be given a coach, not just an online course, but an actual human being, going to listen to me and advise me.”
For Steve, the issue was a lack of focus.
“After talking to the coach, she has been providing a lot of different platforms for me to look into, and that actually helped me a lot to decide which area I need to focus on.”
Nina describes how the programme addresses the individual needs of people like Jamie, Riyashdeen, and Steve through a combination of independent learning and structured support.
When a client registers with Polaris, they are given access to online learning portals and can download the workbook.
“I share various interventions based on what Polaris has guided them through. And during the coaching session, we discuss which areas they feel they have not done so, and how I can help them.”
For Jamie, the impact was getting a clearer picture of where he should be headed.
“It really gave me a better clarity about what kind of career path I want, and also a better clarity on how to plan my career.”
Steve adds, “Without joining the Polaris Programme, I may have still been lost in my career because I may not know which area I need to develop.”
As Riyashdeen puts it: “We are probably at a crossroad, at some point wondering what am I going to do next? If you’re looking for that answer, then you should definitely get onto this programme.”
