Crystal, Grant Associates EARN Counsellor, knew Latasha was the right person for the program and that she would make a great employee.

“She was a good fit for the UPMC program because she has a great personality. She's a friendly person, and in the position she was hired for, she was able to greet patients eagerly, very friendly. And that was something they were looking for.”

Latasha’s personality and dedication were infectious, and as word spread, she had multiple teams within UPMC requesting she come and work with them.

Latasha’s excited for the future and grateful for what she’s achieved through the training, which boosted her confidence.

“I was able to achieve my goal by doing the training, and by being dedicated — and I couldn't be happier. I learned new things and it made me feel important because I was the one doing them.”

Jack, Grant Associates EARN Program Manager, can tell how much the role means to Latasha.

“The way in which I've seen Latasha grow her confidence is just off the charts. She consistently talks about her job, how much she loves it. She talks about the example that she's setting for her children, and as she's talking about it, I noticed the smile on her face.”

Latasha credits the EARN program with helping her feel more valued.

“I don't think I could have achieved as much as I did without the EARN program. I felt love, I felt appreciated, I felt acknowledged. Because the Grant Associates showed me how I could be a better person. Showed me how I could build and encourage others. Showed me how never give up on something you believe in. I couldn't be more grateful for having the EARN program on my side.”
