Apply your skills in a new way, working as an Employment Consultant

If the events of 2020 have meant that you’re considering where you could take your career next, consider joining the APM team. Our Employment Consultants are the driving force that help job seekers find employment and help local employers hire locally.

What skills are required?

Being a great Employment Consultant is all about being extremely customer focused with the ability to wear multiple hats and work under pressure. We find that if you’ve worked previously as a retail or store manager, travel or sales consultant, bank teller, telemarketers or hospitality manager - jobs that rely on great service and achieving targets – you’ll have the kinds of skills we value for this role.

A typical week will involve...

  • Building relationships with employers and community organisations
  • Actively marketing your job seekers to potential employers
  • Helping job seekers identify their skills, abilities and suitable roles
  • Increasing job seekers’ capacity for employment (through training, referral to counselling or other support services, coaching in job search skills)
  • Creating and implementing a clear pathway to employment for job seekers through Job Plans

Pay that rewards your success

Performance is part of our culture as it encourages us to help more people. Your role will attract a minimum $54K base salary plus an uncapped incentive structure, rewarding you for your success in placing as many people as possible into employment. You'll also have unlimited personal use of a smartphone, free counselling services and a range of other benefits.
