Support vulnerable young people with the Op Shop Ball

The countdown is on for the most highly anticipated event on the Perth social calendar – the Anglicare WA Op Shop Ball.

APM is sponsoring this year’s ball, which will bring a fascinatingly fashionable night of fundraising to Crown Perth Ballroom on Saturday 15 May.

The event is known for it’s interesting and colourful outfits as guests are invited to showcase their most exciting and glamourous op shop purchase in place of traditional evening gowns and formal wear.

Coming after a year of major disruption to many people’s travel plans, this year’s ball takes guests on a unique airline experience.

Anglicare WA CEO Mark Glasson is taking on the role of airline captain and will be guiding guests on the ultimate getaway.

Money raised through the Op Shop Ball will go towards services like Young Hearts – a free counselling service that empowers young children to overcome physical, psychological and emotional trauma and abuse caused by family and domestic violence.

Young Hearts currently operates in WA’s Peel region but with the increase in domestic violence across the State, demand for services has become more urgent.

In the past year, Anglicare WA helped over 44,000 Western Australians in 55 communities across the state through 76 different services.

This included helping people experiencing family and domestic violence, supporting people to strengthen their family relationships, and working alongside people experiencing with homelessness, poverty, and mental illness.

All tickets are now sold out for this year’s ball, but you can find out more about Anglicare WA and how to support them at anglicarewa.org.au
