Self-Employment Assistance by APM Employment Services helps people set up, develop and grow their own small business.

  • Workshop a business idea
  • Create a business plan and develop your business skills
  • Provide you with accredited training in small business*
  • Connect you with business coaching from experienced and local experts in a range of industries
  • Self-Employment Assistance participant in their plant business

Existing small business owners can also access Self-Employment Assistance to develop their business plan, access accredited training, undertake a business health check and access business advice sessions.

Small business coaching participants will have access to collaborative and personalised support from our Self-Employment mentors for 12 months.

All with the goal of giving you the best possible start in business.

Check your eligibility

You may qualify for Self-Employment Assistance if you are:

At least 15 years of age (to access workshops and training) 

 At least 18 years of age (to access Small Business Coaching)

 An Australian Citizen, or permanent resident, eligible to work in Australia

Not an undischarged bankrupt

 Able to commit to Self-Employment Assistance training and work full-time in your proposed business
