NDIS and LGBTIQA+ communities

As an NDIS partner in the community, our Local Area Coordinators help people with disability, their families, and carers to identify and access the support they need.

Our staff are LGBTIQA+ inclusive and understand how to navigate challenges members of the LGBTIQA+ and gender diverse communities may face when accessing the NDIS.

We provide NDIS advice and guidance in a safe and supportive environment and encourage you to bring your whole self to any meetings with us. Being LGBTIQA+ does not affect your eligibility for the NDIS, so when you share your identity with us, we can better reflect you and help you connect to community.

If you or someone you know identifies as LGBTIQA+ and has a disability, we can help you understand if you are eligible for the NDIS. If you aren’t eligible, we can still help connect you with other community and mainstream supports.

Find out more about accessing the NDIS by calling 1800 276 522 or make an enquiry below.

Accessing the NDIS for LGBTQIA+ communities

Hear from one of APM Communities’ Local Area Coordinators, MJ, who is LGBTIQA+ herself.

MJ discusses accessing the NDIS and what supports are available.
