Like many Australians over 45, Leah faced the challenge of re-entering a competitive job market.
She needed a fresh start and a supportive environment to help her rediscover her confidence and showcase her skills.
That’s when she joined Career Transition Assistance (CTA) - a service designed to empower mature-age job seekers with the tools and confidence to thrive in today’s workforce.
From the very beginning, APM’s Senior Training & Industry Consultant, Claire, saw something special in Leah.
During the initial assessment, Claire took the time to understand Leah’s goals and passions.
Recognising her potential, Claire didn’t wait for the course to begin - she forwarded Leah’s resume to APM’s internal hiring team for a role that seemed tailor-made for her.
Before she even started the program, Leah was invited to interview for a Training Facilitator position.
Just a few weeks after she first came to APM she was officially part of the team, returning to the classroom to support others on their employment journey - especially those over 45, just like her.
Since stepping into her new role, Leah’s confidence has soared.
She now works part-time, helping others build the skills and mindset needed to succeed in a changing job market.
Her story is a reminder with the right support, it’s never too late to start again.
“Claire recognised that my skillset and experience would closely align with an opportunity within the business,” Leah said.
“I was provided with encouragement to elaborate on my experience and forward an introductory email to be reviewed by the organisation.
“I am thrilled and excited to be back in the training room. I would like to thank Claire for the support and encouragement. I am now looking forward to motivating and changing mindsets within the Career Transition Assistance course.”
Leah’s journey is far from over.
She’s now focused on inspiring others to believe in their potential and embrace new opportunities with confidence.
