Cannock Chase MP, Amanda Milling, has praised a group of teenagers who are raising funds for a local disability charity.

The MP spoke to the young people who are participating in the National Citizen Service this summer.

A two-three week youth empowerment programme, NCS is taking place across Staffordshire during school holidays, helping young people expand their horizons whilst learning key skills for work and life.

The MP's appearance is a show of continued support for the programme – to which she is a regular visitor – and an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of teenage volunteering to the local community.

Amanda Milling, MP for Cannock Chase, says: "I have visited NCS participants regularly and seen the impact of their social action in my constituency.

"I was delighted to join this group of young people taking part in the NCS programme in Cannock.I was really impressed by the group and their project to raise money for the local charity Dads & Disabilities Support.

"They have come up with some really excellent and innovative ways of raising money for this Bridgtown based charity and I look forward to seeing how they get on with sprucing up the wheelchair for Katie.

"Their enthusiasm was really fantastic to see and I wish them all the best with their fundraising efforts."

The next programme takes place this summer and costs no more than £50.00.
