Paige and Transition to Work transcript

Paige: My name is Paige Sims. I'm a beverage and food attendant at Club Catalina. Transitioning to work has impacted my life by helping me get a job at Club Catalina. I struggled for about three years without a job in Batemans Bay and now I got the job here.

Christine: I'm a senior youth support worker with the Transition to Work program at APM in Batemans Bay. I've been doing this in my community now for almost eight years, and I feel very proud and get very rewarded seeing the participants grow and achieve. So our program is unique to the youth and we support them in their journey to employment, education, or getting them work-ready so that they can have the skills that they need to react with an employer, take on an interview, and just feel comfortable in their own environment.

Paige: The program has helped me by getting my RSA, which is Responsible Services of Alcohol, and my RCG, which is Responsible Conduct of Gambling.

Cushla: The Transition to Work program provided by APM has enabled us to welcome Paige to our team. The mentoring and support that Paige has received through the Transition to Work program has set her up for success with us.

Christine: When I first met Paige, she was very shy, very quiet, so I asked her what she likes, what she doesn't like, what music she likes, and just made her feel at ease. And now to see Paige at work and the confidence that she has, I commend her, and I'm really, really, really proud of her as to where she's come.

Paige: Without the program, I would not be able to work at Club Catalina, and I wouldn't be able to have the support that I do.
