Seven individuals have been named as finalists in this year’s industry leading ARPA (Australian Rehabilitation Providers Association) Excellence in Workplace Rehabilitation Awards.
The ARPA Awards recognise the achievements of rehabilitation specialists in each state and territory, with the winners heading to the National Awards in Canberra on May 27.
APM WorkCare’s finalists for the 2021 ARPA Excellence in Workplace Rehabilitation Awards are:
Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and Tasmania
Finalist: Amanda Johnston – APM WorkCare National Customer Manager
Award: Exceptional Leadership Award
Finalist: James Mee – APM WorkCare Branch Manager, Launceston
Award: Exceptional Leadership Award
Finalist: Jung Chung – APM WorkCare Consultant and Registered Psychologist.

ACT Awards dinner to be held on Thursday 27 May at Hotel Realm, in conjunction with the 2021 APRA National Awards.
New South Wales
Finalist: Gabrielle Foldes – APM WorkCare Consultant and Registered Psychologist.
Award: Outstanding Achievement in Return to Work Award – Psychological Claim
Awards dinner to be held on Friday 26 March at Doltone House LOFT, Jones Bay Wharf, Sydney.
Queensland
Finalist: Tim Williams – APM WorkCare Senior Occupational Therapist who also specialises in OT Driving Assessments.
Award: Innovation in Return to Work Award
Finalist: Julia Cham – APM WorkCare Senior Occupational Therapist, who also specialises in OT Driving Assessments.
Award: Outstanding Achievement in Return to Work Award – Physical Claim
Awards dinner to be held on Thursday 22 April at The Terrace, Emporium Hotel, South Bank, Brisbane.
Western Australia
Finalist: May Webster – APM WorkCare Provisional Psychologist and Rehabilitation Counsellor.
Award: Outstanding Achievement in Return to Work Award – Psychological Claim
Finalist: Emily Thompson – APM WorkCare Provisional Psychologist and Rehabilitation Consultant.
Award: Outstanding Achievement in Return to Work Award – Physical Claim
Awards dinner to be held on Friday 21 May at Ritz-Carlton Perth.
Making a difference
APM WorkCare General Manager Philip Paysden said the award nominations were a result of the dedication of every team throughout a challenging year.
“2020 has been a tough year for so many and I am incredibly proud of the APM WorkCare team who have really banded together during this time and been unwavering in their commitment to enable better lives for our clients,” he said.
“The recognition of Gabby, May, Emily, Tim and Julia’s outstanding performance so far is not only a testament to their amazing skills and commitment to making a difference, but an example of the amazing team and culture I have the pleasure of working with every day.

APM WorkCare is no stranger to ARPA Awards ceremonies with several successes in recent years, including the National Award for Innovation in Return to Work at the 2019 ARPA Awards for the APMiQ tool.
Team members from across APM WorkCare have been recognised for their dedication to helping injured workers back to employment.
