Supported into a new career
After having her first child, Lelani wanted to return to work, but she was unsure about what she wanted to do.
She didn't know how she could pursue her interest in healthcare, or what support she could access.

Lelani admits to feeling quite vulnerable at the time.
"I didn't know how to feel signing up for a program that can help me" she said.
"So giving all this trust with them and them coming and going so hard for me, it made me feel like I can always trust them and have them always as a support system."
Making the change
Lelani had previously worked in retail, and her case manager Patrice could see she wanted to make a change.
Patrice observed Lelani was uncertain about making a change into a new industry, and her confidence was low.
"In a part of my life where it was depressed, you know, being a new mum, going through post-partum and I was just kind of in a funk" Lelani recalled,
"So I feel this program kind of uplifted me as a mother, as a woman as a fiancee."
"It just brought new life to me" she added.
