APM WorkCare New Zealand congratulates Occupation Therapist intern Kimberlea Lemon, for her recent award of an academic prize at her graduation from Otago Polytechnic tertiary institution.
APM WorkCare's interns are new graduates who come to us to complete their first year of employment, where they undergo an enhanced programme of training and supervision to support them to deliver vocational of rehabilitation.
The prize Kimberlea received was the Ford Emery Trophy Cup, which is awarded to the student who shows the most aptitude for clinical practice.
It goes to the student who gains the highest marks on clinical placements through the final year of their degree.
Molly Ford Emery - who the trophy is named after - is a respected figure in the profession and had an extensive career in occupational therapy in the Otago area. The award is named in recognition of her dedication and support of students in securing placements on completion of their training.
