Supporting recovery and return to work after a road accident

After a road accident, the path back to work and everyday life can feel uncertain.

APM WorkCare has supported Australians to return to work for more than 30 years helping Australians recover from road trauma and rebuild confidence, independence and meaningful participation in work and the community.

Experience supporting people injured in road accidents

We understand the challenges that can follow a road accident, from changes in physical capacity to the emotional and psychological impacts that affect confidence, identity and work readiness.

Our approach is holistic, practical and outcome focused. We work collaboratively with:

  • the client and their support network
  • the treating health practitioners
  • the employer or workplace representatives
  • insurers and other key stakeholders

By working together, we help ensure recovery and return to work goals are realistic, coordinated and aligned with capacity, now and into the future.

Vocational rehabilitation services

We support employed individuals and those looking for work across work readiness, return to work, education and return to life pathways.

Our services include:

  • Assisting people to return to their original employment
  • Assisting people to return to new employment if they have become job detached as a result of their accident
  • Functional capacity assessments
  • Workplace, ergonomic and vehicle assessments
  • Vocational and transferable skills assessments
  • Vocational planning and labour market research
  • Identification and management of psychosocial risks

Psychosocial risk management is embedded in every case to support steady progress toward recovery goals.

The APM difference

As part of the APM Group, Australia’s largest provider of disability employment services, we support people every day who are managing physical injuries, psychological impacts and complex barriers after road trauma.

Our experienced allied health professionals take the time to understand the injury, work history, goals and medical restrictions, while our dedicated employment placement managers support clients without a job to return to through New Employer Services (NES).

We work directly with employers to identify suitable roles aligned to the client’s capacity and support outcomes that are safe, confident and sustainable, helping clients find not just a job, but the right one.

Accessible support across Australia

APM delivers in-person vocational rehabilitation services across metropolitan and regional areas nationwide, ensuring consistent, high-quality service wherever it’s needed.
