APM youth program a boost to local businesses

APM's youth employment service, APM YES, to help young people find jobs in NSW, has been highlighted as a service to local businesses in the region.

The NSW Government program was launched by APM in the Hunter and Central Coast regions earlier this year.

APM YES (Youth Employment Services) aims to help people aged 15 to 24 find positive employment opportunities where they live.

APM is currently hiring employment consultants to join the Youth Services team in Gosford.

Youth Employment Program aims to help youth and businesses

A NSW Government initiative to secure jobs for youth across the Hunter will also help local business that are hiring and need staff.

Employment agency APM is delivering the Youth Employment Program on behalf of the NSW Department of Industry in the Hunter and Central Coast.

APM service delivery manager Greg Hall said the program, open to those aged 15 to 24, was an important step in getting young people jobs that will also benefit businesses.

No qualifications are needed for the program, which also helps youth beat barriers to employment like mental health issues.

Mr Hall said APM would work with employers to understand employment opportunities and skills gaps.
