Mentors encouraged to join summer of a lifetime with NCS

Prospective mentors are being encouraged to take a final opportunity to embark upon a summer of a lifetime through the National Citizen Service (NCS).

Youth employment experts, APM, are delivering NCS across the West Midlands region and are actively recruiting for suitable candidates to join their team as mentors.

APM recruiter, Kul Benning said: "As an NCS Mentor, you will be a positive role model, motivating and empowering young people to face new challenges and supporting them to grow in confidence.

"NCS really is a fantastically rewarding programme, not only for the young people who participate in it, but for those fortunate enough to mentor them."

Mentors will also support a group of young people throughout a one week 'away' residential at an outward bound type environment undertaking team building and physical activities.

They will then lead a group through a one-week stay at a local university residence during which young people will develop key life skills.

More than 200,000 young people have already said YES to NCS nationally, with up to 3,000 set to take part in APM-led programmes this summer.
