Stronger disability employment outcomes

The latest official Australian Government Star Ratings results for Disability Management Service (DMS) and Employment Support Service (ESS) for the December 2014 quarter showed that:

  • APM's number of five-star rated Employment Service Areas in both programs has increased from 16 (in the September 2014 quarter) to 23, APM's highest outcome;
  • APM has 72 individual sites which are rated five stars;
  • Of APM's DMS contracts, 49 per cent are rated four stars or higher, compared to the industry average of 35 per cent; and
  • Of APM's ESS contracts, 35 per cent are rated four stars or higher, compared to the industry average of 25 per cent.

In addition, APM's Job Services Australia contracts in western NSW improved their overall percentiles.

It meant that in the calendar year 2014, more than 8500 job seekers were placed into work through APM's employment services programs.

"APM is extremely proud of our performance, as measured by the latest star ratings results, and we are working on improving our model and future results to increase participation," said APM's Group Chief Executive Officer, Michael Hobday.

"Our dedicated team across all states and territories of Australia continues to better previous results which is a real credit to them.

"Overcoming the significant employment challenges which exist in the most difficult-to-reach parts of Australia at the moment is something we take great pride in doing.

"APM has the largest geographical spread of locations to serve and to improve in the star ratings is a testament to our commitment to helping communities grow and prosper."
