APM and Hockey Australia lock in long-term partnership to LA 2028

The Hockeyroos’ push towards the 2028 Olympic Games has secured powerful backing, as global human services provider APM re-signs as a Major Partner for another three years.

The extension takes the successful collaboration as the Hockeyroos Major Partner, Official Partner of the Kookaburras, and Hockey Australia’s Exclusive Category Partner - Disability Service Provider to six years, combining elite performance support with a shared commitment to making hockey accessible for all.

APM’s primary purpose, ‘to enable better lives’, has been at the heart of the partnership since its inception, while having a profound impact through initiatives such as APM’s Hockey for All Clinics, in partnership with Hockey WA, and the launch of the inaugural Inclusive Hookin2Hockey Handbook.

Over the next three years, the partnership will roll out a targeted plan to open up more employment opportunities, particularly for women and girls, equip clubs with stronger inclusion knowledge, and create sustainable pathways for players of all abilities.

This will include the launch of APM Sensory Rooms at international events, expanded inclusion education for clubs nationwide, more All Abilities Clinics linked to Hockey’s Hookin2Hockey program for 5–12 year olds, and work experience placements for high performance athletes.

“It’s amazing to have APM on board with us. They’ve made such a huge commitment to the Hockeyroos and that support is so important as we look ahead to LA,” Hockeyroo Grace Young said.

“Knowing we’ve got their backing, not just financially but also in helping provide opportunities like jobs for the girls, makes a massive difference.”

“What APM is doing in the inclusion and disability space is incredible,” Hockeyroo Lexie Pickering added.

“Hockey should be a sport for everyone, and to have a global partner willing to help educate and create change in that area is such a huge step forward. I work in disability support and see the struggles that can exist when people don’t feel backed or welcomed, so to know hockey is pushing for that change is really special.”

“APM’s commitment to enabling better lives aligns perfectly with our belief that hockey should be a sport for everyone,” Hockey Australia CEO David Pryles added.

“Together, we’ve not only created more inclusive pathways but also inspired future generations to see themselves in the sport, regardless of their background or ability. We’re thrilled to continue building on this momentum over the next three years.”

Group CEO Michael Anghie said APM was pleased to extend its partnership with Hockey Australia and the Hockeyroos.

"This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to inclusion and opportunity—values that sit at the heart of APM’s purpose.

"Over the next three years, we’ll continue working together to make hockey more accessible and inclusive, while supporting meaningful pathways that enable better lives for individuals and communities.”
