It has come in the form of APM being allocated more work by the Australian Government as part of the Disability Employment Services (DES) program.

"APM has a proud history of delivering tangible employment outcomes for disadvantaged people and the Government's decision to grant us additional work in this area recognises this," said APM's Group Chief Executive Officer, Michael Hobday.

"It is a testament to the way that our team across all Australian states and territories engages with job seekers and employers alike.

"However, with extra work comes extra responsibilities, notably, ensuring that we continue to successfully place job seekers into employment and assist them - and their employers - to keep them in work.

"Our experienced staff are ready to meet this challenge."

From mid-August, APM will help more local people with disability into work in three areas in NSW - St George/Sutherland, Nepean and Lower Hunter - and within the Cairns Employment Service Area in Queensland.

In addition, APM will commence providing services under the Employment Support Service program in the Macarthur area on the south-western fringe of Sydney.

"Every year APM assists more than 60,000 people and this figure will increase as a result of this additional work that we are taking on," Mr Hobday said.

"However, our team never loses sight of the fact that each job seeker is different and requires an individual approach to placing them into employment."

APM is Australia's largest provider of disability employment services.
