Liam was managing anxiety and depression while trying to meet full-time job search requirements.
It was a lot.
As trust grew between them, he opened up about the pressure he was under.
Julian introduced him to the Employment Services Assessment, which helped set a part-time plan with Workforce Australia that better matched Liam's situation.
That one change made a real difference.
With a clearer path forward, the two explored industries where Liam's skills could transfer.
Retail felt like a natural fit.
Working through applications together at an onsite appointment, Liam landed a Christmas casual role at Rebel Sport.
The hours were irregular, but he showed up whenever he could.
At the same time, Julian helped Liam complete a First Aid certificate.
That opened doors to roles in aged care, support work, and community services, all areas that connected well with his Biomedicine studies.
Within six weeks, Liam had secured a second, more consistent role while keeping occasional Rebel Sport shifts.
Regular check-ins with Julian kept the focus on his wellbeing as much as his workload.
“Liam was more motivated to find stable employment and eventually reached a situation where he could study and work at the same time,” Julian says.
Liam was equally grateful.
"Thank you APM for the assistance in helping me build a routine and being consistent in work."
Today, Liam is balancing two jobs alongside his master's degree, with a routine that works for him.
