APM has been approved as a Pre-Employment Medical Provider to contractors working on the Queensland Alumina Limited (QAL) site in Gladstone, Queensland.

Rio Tinto Alcan owns 80 per cent of QAL and any contractor working on the QAL site must satisfy the QAL Health and Fitness Standard, as assessed by an approved Pre-Employment Medical Provider.

"APM is pleased to have been approved as a provider of assessments to determine compliance with the QAL Health and Fitness Standard," said APM's Group Chief Executive Officer, Michael Hobday.

"Over the past six years, APM has grown our pre-employment service delivery significantly, such that we work with many large employers to deliver this service nationally on projects in industries which include infrastructure, mining, oil and gas, hospitality and health care.

"APM's dedicated pre-employment assessment team is reducing the burden on recruitment teams by organising appointments, carrying out follow-up work and collating results.

"We have an experienced team of allied health professionals in all states and territories to review results and ensure that they are consistent and accurate across Australia.

"Through this service, APM assists businesses to minimise risks associated with fitness for work."
