Where are they now?

Catching up with Disability Employment Services participants years after they found success with APM.

Caley’s crushing goals at work and in life

It’s been more than six years since we met Caley and shared his story of employment success with the Disability Employment Services program.

Caley, who has cerebral palsy, was supported to find a new role with Woolworths he could thrive in.

In our original look at his job, we saw how Caley quickly became a familiar and friendly face for local shoppers in Woolworths Warragul.

Today we’re thrilled to see Caley’s still thriving in his role, taking on more hours and more shifts.

“I try to bring the good vibes, good energy and keep a smile on my face,” Caley said.

“If I was paid for every time a customer comes up and says ‘sorry I’m ruining your display’ I’d be a rich man!” Caley told us recently.

Outside of work Caley continues his love of collecting action figures and memorabilia. He also shared he has a new hobby fixing up retro computer game consoles, and he has achieved a personal dream.

“I also achieved a personal dream of mine. I met Kevin Eastman, co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – and got his signature.”

Caley even impressed his hero by showing his rare figurines of the characters based on Eastman’s original concept.

“Kevin was elated when he saw it, and said that he hadn't seen it in years,” Caley said.

Now Caley is looking forward to buying his first home and saving for a holiday.
