Young people in parts of New South Wales and Queensland will soon get more help to gain skills, education, and jobs, from one of Australia’s top employment services providers.
APM Employment Services has been announced as the new providers of the Transition to Work program in three regions.
The government-funded program, which supports highly disadvantaged young people aged 15 to 24, who are at most risk of long-term unemployment, will be delivered by APM’s NSW team in Illawarra South Coast, Sydney North and West, and in Somerset by the QLD team.
The program helps participants to develop appropriate skills and attributes to gain employment (including apprenticeships or traineeships), and/or connect them with education and training institutions for further learning that will prepare them for jobs in the future.
APM Employment Services is Australia’s largest trusted provider of Disability Employment Services as well as a national provider of jobactive and NEIS programs for job seekers across the country.
In the last two years more than 120,000 people have been supported into employment through programs run by APM Employment Services across Australia.
CEO of APM Employment Services, Karen Rainbow, said the program is a chance to help even more people improve their lives and achieve goals towards long-term employment.
“It’s very exciting to add the Transition to Work program to the services we provide.
“The success of our tender submission is due to the drive and passion of all of our people and APM’s proven results in enabling better lives for those we serve.
“We regularly see the positive impact and value a good job can bring and our team is dedicated to helping more young people realise their potential and secure a successful start to their working life.”
The program will begin from 1 July 2022 with APM servicing communities from nine full-time locations and three outreach sites.
- Batemans Bay, Bega, Nowra, Ulladulla (full-time)
- Moruya, Narooma and Vincentia (outreach)
- Baulkham Hills, Hornsby and Ryde (full-time)
- Caboolture and Deception Bay (full-time)
