Alexander's parkour vision gets a jump start

In the bustling heart of Sydney, a new venture is making waves in the world of athletic training.

KongQuest, a parkour business founded by self-confessed adventurer Alexander, is providing kids with a fun and safe environment to explore the exhilarating discipline of parkour.

This sport, which involves moving from one point to another in the most efficient way possible without equipment, often includes impressive acrobatic feats.

Alexander's journey began in February 2024 when he joined the Self-Employment Assistance program at APM’s Surry Hills site.

With a dream to start his own business and a passion for parkour, Alexander sought the support and mentorship needed to bring KongQuest to life.

His vision was clear: to introduce the art of parkour to a wider audience and equip kids with the skills and confidence to enjoy this dynamic sport safely.

APM Self-Employment Assistance Consultant, Peter, played a crucial role in Alexander's journey.

Throughout the program, Peter provided invaluable business knowledge and guidance, helping Alexander lay the foundations for KongQuest.

This mentorship proved to be instrumental in transforming Alexander's dream into a thriving business.

One of KongQuest's most significant milestones came with the establishment of a partnership with Darling Harbour Sydney.

This collaboration allowed KongQuest to offer free parkour classes for kids, significantly boosting the demand for their sessions.

The partnership has been a game-changer, propelling KongQuest into the spotlight and attracting a growing number of young enthusiasts eager to learn the art of parkour.

Reflecting on his journey, Alexander expressed his gratitude for the support he received through Self-Employment Assistance.

He likened the program to having a therapist who offers an insightful, third-party perspective.

"This open dialogue and unwavering support has been instrumental in our business growth,” he said.

With his sights set on expanding KongQuest to new areas around Sydney, Alexander is excited about the future.
