Nelly Torque had held a number of project roles in the IT and mining industry.

An achiever and go-getter, she had project managed multi billion dollar projects before she decided to start her own business with the help of the NEIS course in Perth South.

The NEIS program has been delivered by APM Employment Services since February 2020. It was previously delivered by Konekt Employment.

From 1 July 2022, Self-Employment Assistance replaced the NEIS program.

Her business, Classic Africana is an online retailer that specialises in designing, making and selling quality and uniquely handcrafted products.

Founded in March 2017, the business has grown and is now starting to gain popularity with fans in Australia and overseas.

Their product is a mix bringing both the Western and African world together through fashion.

Nelly has recognised the need in the online marketplace for competitive African fashion and art for people who want unique items that are culturally artistic, reliable and durable.

Their products range from beautiful and classy handbags, summer and winter clothing, homeware and wood art.
