Workforce Australia Services is how Australian job seekers can get one-on-one tailored employment support at no cost.
When you participate in Workforce Australia Services, you'll be referred to APM Employment Services or another provider in your local area.
A dedicated employment consultant will get to know your situation, your goals when it comes to work and any challenges you might be facing in your job search.
Then they'll work closely with you to develop an individualised job plan.
Your Workforce Australia Services provider can help you with things like:
- Career advice and mentoring
- Work experience opportunities including Work for the Dole
- Employment skills training and education
- Funding for work-related licences and micro-credentials like a white card
- Writing and tailoring your resume
- Applying for jobs and preparing for job interviews
- Using digital services and meeting your obligations
What's the difference between Workforce Australia Services and Online?
Workforce Australia Online is an online portal where you can self-manage your job search.
On the Workforce Australia website and app you'll find information, tools and resources to help you prepare for work, find a job and manage your Centrelink obligations.
You can also get phone or email support from the Digital Services Contact Centre (DSCC).
If you want or need extra support, you can access Enhanced Services through APM or another Workforce Australia provider in your local area.
As an Enhanced Services participant, you'll still have access to all the information, tools and resources online. You'll additionally get face-to-face, individualised support from your provider.
How to access Workforce Australia Services
Most job seekers start with Online Services and then transition into Workforce Australia Services if they need enhance support.
You must be unemployed and receiving income support payments from Centrelink to be eligible.
Here's how to access Workforce Australia Services:
1. Referral from Centrelink
If you are currently unemployed, you can access Workforce Australia Online from Centrelink.
If you are already using Workforce Australia Online but need enhanced services, Centrelink may refer you to a Workforce Australia Services provider.
2. Volunteer for Workforce Australia Services
If you are currently using Online services, you can choose to transition to enhanced Workforce Australia Services at any time.
Self-manage your transition on the Workforce Australia website or app. Or contact the Digital Services Contact Centre (DSCC).
3. Contact a local provider
